February 14th has come and gone. But things of the heart are never untimely, so let me tell you about this year's eye-popping Valentine from my husband.

It was so big it came in a box...yes, a big red box. Among the signature cards Bob has given me on Cupid Day, the boxed card was a first of its kind...no envelope seal to loosen, just a scarlet lid to lift.  

Throughout 35 years of our love-match, Bob's chosen the best of Hallmark---opinion, of course. I've received his decorative sentiments in feminine trimmings and in sundry shapes, sparkling with glitter, tied in silk ribbons, designed with pop-outs, embellished with flowers, and embossed or engraved. But this February, Bob selected a rhinestone bedecked card too big for a traditional envelope. Heart-flutters!

Yet far surpassing my delight with the flourishes of Bob's folded love tokens are the carefully crafted words inscribed within. Words composed delicately, kindly, specifically and lovingly to accomplish the purpose of communicating how much, and why, I am loved by my beloved. 

My monthly blog will be a valentine of sorts. As an author and Bible teacher, my motivation is singular. To portray God's love in message, books and teaching---a love demonstrated in his character, disciplines, gifts, and even his mystery.

You're invited to read my heart-inspired words of joy, struggle, triumph, routine, and discovery, and bits of news about life, books, God, and of course, an occasional mention of cats.

Today, my blog comes to you as an introduction to the new design and content of my website. I'm giving a copy of Inspur-r-rational Stories for Cat Lovers to whoever submits the best caption for the Home Page picture of Myles. What do you suppose Myles is thinking?
